The Politics of God and the God of Politics

There might not be a better example of what's wrong with Man and with our world than the American political scene. Most of us are glad that election seasons are over and we're just happy that we don't have to watch any more political ads after the first Tuesday in November. We are confused as to what the issues really are and even more confused about how to get involved in making a difference. More than anything, there is a real sense of disillusionment and detachment from the American political system right now. A lot of people have responded to a system that they feel is failing by sitting out of politics- they don't vote, they don't march, they don't picket, and they don't think it would matter if they did. Christians are looking for a path to follow here that allows them to make a difference while being true to the high requirements that Christ places on them for mercy, justice, peace, and loving their neighbors. The Bible speaks clearly to this and directs Believers in how to engage in the government of men while living in the unseen Kingdom of God.
