Remember to Trust

Trust is a word that we use a lot but its a difficult thing to come by. We don't always know who to trust. And its difficult to get someone to trust us. Life is full of opportunities to earn trust, give trust, and lose trust. We are usually busy lining ourselves up with people or organizations or events or things that promise us some kind of happiness. We are trusting them to give us what they promise; lack of pain, lack of want, pleasure, riches, security, loneliness. What we find out quickly and often painfully is that when we trust ungodly things or people to give us these things and they fail to do so- we share in that failure. We share in that pain, loss and disappointment when we have given our trust away to "gods" that can't provide them. God wants us to be desperate for him and to remember and trust who he has been and can be in our lives- the only one who can follow through with his promises, the only one who can save us and protect us!
