On Our Hands, In Our Heart
Isaiah is full of a lot of heavy messages, and many of them use some hard/harsh language. The message from God is clearly one of our problems and his solutions. More than that, Isaiah seems to be an impassioned plea to turn to God no matter where we find ourselves, no matter how far away our sin and rebellion have carried us. Isaiah's very name means "the Lord is my salvation"; even in Isaiah's name God is telling us that he wants to be in a right relationship with us. While we indulge in sin and play at religion, God calls out to us, "Come, let us reason...." He knows what's in our hearts and what's on our hands and he is prepared to save us from it.
