See, Go, Tell

There are a lot of things in life that stress us out. Personally, relationships get hard and hurtful, jobs and careers get disillusioning, finances get overwhelming, and family gets confusing. Nationally, we are told that we are going bankrupt but we must spend more, we are safe but we must take more precautions, we are living longer but we must be healthier. So many confusing messages about almost every area of life and it all leads to stress and worry. Isaiah lived at a time when things were stressful. A time when the king was dead. A time when the enemies were knocking at the gate. It really was a perfect storm setting Isaiah up to ask, "Where are you, God?" When we forget that there is a Throne and that God sits on that throne, we will have our hopes repeatedly dashed on the rocks of life. We must see God for who he is, see ourselves rightly, surrender to his solutions to our problems, and commit to going where he sends us. Stress and worry morph into faith, joy, and deep peace that it all serves his glorious plans.
