From Slaves to Sons
In Plato's "Allegory of the Cave," prisoners are held in a cave and made to look at shadows for their entire lives, and as a result, the shadows become their reality. They are prisoners and have no idea. In John 8:31-39, Jesus' words cut to the heart of the Jews who had "believed in Him." He tells them that everyone who commits sin, is a slave to sin and true freedom only comes from the Son (Himself). While it would be more comfortable for us to see how others are slaves to their sin, we must confront the fact that we are (and have been) slaves to sin at some point in life. Jesus is the only one who can liberate us and take us from slaves to sons along the road to belief. Join us as we discuss the true freedom that is only found in Jesus Christ.
