When God Cries

Some of us cry all of the time; some of us rarely or never cry. There are as many reasons people cry as there are people. We are emotional beings and we express those emotions in hundreds of ways. But what about God? Does God cry? If so, what makes him cry? The Bible is clear that God loves his people with a love that we might never fully understand. That being true, it can be very difficult to reconcile daily living and the more challenging times of life with that fact. God often waits before he acts on his people's behalf and that delay can lead to a lot of pain, suffering, and death. When we're in the in- between-times, between the onset of pain and our request for God's help and him actually doing something about it, we can find ourselves vacillating between grief and accusation. Hurting and blaming God. Somewhere in that, God might just be crying.
