Detox: Mind
The human brain is an incredible machine and can accomplish some pretty amazing feats. Whether through training or by adaptation, the brain can perform acts of memory, creativity and calculation that the average person finds to be almost super-human. Somewhere in the inner part of the brain is the mind. Perhaps like the body is some kind of representation/receptacle for the human spirit, the brain functions like that for the mind. As much as the brain is gifted and talented and loaded with potential, the mind places it very close to the biggest problem known to man. Sin. So our thoughts and plans and thinking processes are unformed, broken, and sinful. While the Bible describes the mind of man as depraved, it also tells us of a hope that we have in Christ to have our minds renewed, changed to reflect the thoughts of our Creator God. We must have our minds renewed and set our mental and spiritual sights on thinking deeply about God's ways and on the Scriptures, and how they can be expressed in our lives everyday.
