Becoming an Illusion
Most of us have been deceived at some point or another. Being disappointed with someone or something that leads to disillusionment with the entire proposition; most of us have been there. Its not so bad when something turns out to be a little different than we expected, or if something just turns out badly. Its another thing altogether when we discover that someone has set out to intentionally deceive us, and they turn out to be something completely other than the way they presented themselves. That can be devastating. In our desire for something true to follow and fashion our lives after, especially something that promises us a great life, we often run toward things that speak the loudest or agree with what we're already looking for. But what happens when that thing falls apart, is revealed for what it is, and we are exposed as becoming like the thing we have put our trust in?
