Become Trusting and Untroubled

Sometimes we just want to go home. The world has become harsh, our emotions have become full, our cup is full of trouble, and we just want to go home. Christ was facing the final night of his life with his friends/disciples and he's laid some pretty heavy news on them. He's going to leave and they can't come with him. One of them will betray him. Peter is going to fail. Their enemies surround them and death for all of them is a very real possibility. In addition Christ is facing the darkest hour in the universe's history- the Son of God is about to become sin. His soul is facing the greatest trouble imaginable and yet Christ so loves his friends that he spends his last time with them encouraging them. His words to them are more than applicable to us today as our lives are surrounded by difficulty and troubles, and his promises and comforts are needed just as much today as they were that night 2000 years ago.
