Become Glorious

Becoming glorious has been the goal of many warriors throughout history. This glory was seen as something that was acquired through supremely valiant acts, perhaps even death on the field of battle. The purpose of this glory was that one's name would be remembered for generations to come. This sentiment is exemplified perfectly in the movie Gladiator when Maximus makes the statement that "what we do in life echoes in eternity." The problem with this is that the motivation is to earn a spot in the history books and to make a name for oneself. This whole concept of becoming glorious gets turned upside down when we look at it through Scripture. John 17:22-26 tells us that Jesus gives His glory to us, but it is not so that our name would be known, praised, or remembered… His glory is given to us that we may reflect it to a lost and dying world, so that His name is made famous. Journey with us as we walk through the implications this has on a believers life.
