Become Joyful Servants

Christ is at the end of his last week on earth and he's spending these precious moments with his disciples and maybe a few other close followers. In these chapters of John, Christ will lay the foundation of what we have come to know as "the spiritual life" and many doctrines that are built out in Paul's letters are first articulated here. What will he say in these last moments? What will he impress on them? As he goes into these deep, intimate moments with these men there is no doubt why he says what he does. And there's no doubting how he expects them to act toward one another and even their enemies. There's no doubt because Christ went to great lengths to be with his disciples, to invite them to come with him all the way to the cross, and to effect a change in them to become joyful servants.
