From Defeat to Victory
The Bible is an amazing book and we all look to it at various times for a multitude of reasons. We trust it to be the accurate communicator of God's truth to us in whatever situation we find ourselves in. So if the Bible talks about something 350+ times, we should probably pay attention, right? As we all struggle and fail in our battle to live in God's rest after salvation, we stumble, fail and sin. Joshua and Israel sinned and were soundly defeated after the astounding victory at Jericho. Their hearts had melted and they had lost the will to fight. God speaks into their situation, instructing them to move and to move without fear. The Bible does the same thing for us- it gives us God's words to pull us out of our sinful defeats into his restful victories.
